Riverfront Park Community Foundation
Part of what makes this community unique is the Riverfront Park Community Foundation. Created in 2000 by the neighborhood’s developer, the Foundation helps create a strong sense of community in the neighborhood by fostering excellence, diversity, and opportunity in the Downtown Denver community, primarily through education and the arts. The Foundation provides grant funding to not-for-profit organizations that have an impact on Riverfront Park and Downtown Denver, working with these organizations to have a strong impact on arts, education, public good, and other important community services. Funding for the Foundation is generated by a 0.5% transfer assessment on all real estate sales in the neighborhood, giving all residents a direct connection to the incredible work of these organizations.
The Riverfront Park Community Foundation is constantly looking for ways to build community in the neighborhood, including funding public art in the neighborhood, bringing live theater to the plaza, and supporting the dog park at the north end of Riverfront Park.
